Three of five companies to price initial public offerings Thursday &#8212; including the $1 billion deal for phone book company Dex Media Inc. &#8212; priced well below expectations, while the other two priced at the bottom of estimates.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With so many IPOs, everyone is bound to find some contract to pique their interest.  For the Fahrenheit 9\/11 crowd, management consulting agreements between <a href=\"http:\/\/contracts.onecle.com\/alpha\/7504.shtml\">Dex Media<\/a> and The Carlyle Group should satisfy them.  Dex Media also filed those ever-popular employment agreements.<\/p>\n<p>For outsourcers, <a href=\"http:\/\/contracts.onecle.com\/alpha\/7541.shtml\">Kanbay<\/a> provided consulting agreements with <a href=\"http:\/\/contracts.onecle.com\/kanbay\/household.consult.1994.11.14.shtml\">Household International<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/contracts.onecle.com\/kanbay\/morgan.consult.2000.07.28.shtml\">Morgan Stanley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for the tech crowd, <a href=\"http:\/\/contracts.onecle.com\/alpha\/7539.shtml\">Blackbaud<\/a> filed a <a href=\"http:\/\/contracts.onecle.com\/blackbaud\/united-way.svc.2004.01.30.shtml\">Software Transition Agreement<\/a> between  it and the United Way of America.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MLive.com: IPOs Struggle in Poor Showing for New Issues Demand for IPOs, already weak this year, took a turn for the worse Thursday.
