Warcraft: Scrivener’s Crusade

When I first spotted this Warcraft Contract a few months ago, I was wondering why they were localizing World of Warcraft for the China market. Can people in China really afford to spend their money playing World of Warcraft? If you’ve never heard of World of Warcraft, South Park has this hilarious take on World of Warcraft.

Anyways, the New York Times explains it allโ€”The Life of a Chinese Gold Farmer. Basically, gamers in China complete some of the more mundane, repetitive tasks in World of Warcraft to collect gold and then sell their gold to American gamers who can then spend their time on the more fun aspects of the game. Globalism, eh?

But, not everyone is keen on this, hence the Warcraft Lawsuit. You can read the complaint courtesy of Justia. So, what next? Can I select a lawyer as my avatar? If someone kills my avatar, can I sue them for wrongful death? ๐Ÿ˜‰
